Hugh & Crye Square-End Ties
Deliberately casual and distinctive in design, these USA-made ties feature a slim profile and square-end reminiscent of the early 1960s. Our Fall/Winter 2016 collection includes 10 neutral patterns and classics, perfect for pairing with virtually any dress shirt and blazer permutation. All ties in this collection were cut on the bias, are 100% cotton, but for two cotton/linen blends. In chambray, stripe, dobby and slub varieties, the iconic fabrics can be dressed up or down. Made in the USA, they all have high quality construction, a wonderfully soft hand feel, knot-up beautifully, and will retain their shape over time.
Made in the USA
We have partnered with a tie manufacturer in North Carolina passionate about the craft and tradition of hand sewn ties. They’ve been doing it for years, and we’re excited to partner with them on this inaugural collection. We have specially drafted our unique square end tie pattern and folding to get a clean, square look.
How They’re Made
Our ties are cut on the bias with an added interfacing to improve the drape and body of the fabric. The ties are pressed into shape and hand sewn labels and keeper loops are hand sewn with a durable thread spanning from the tip to tail end. The result is a handmade and unique square-end tie, each with it’s own individual character.
How We Wear It
The Kurosawa square-end cotton tie is a great option for everyday wear. We recommend the four-in-hand and half Windsor knots for our square-end style. Keep things interesting by layering with a cardigan, sweater, or jacket of contrasting textures and patterns. Remember to gently open the tie after wearing, and lay flat or hang to store.
