Alan Shepard was America’s first man in space. The classic blue stripe on our Shepard shirt symbolizes that early time in America’s race to the moon when conquering the skies was still the first step. The Shepard is cut from a 100% Egyptian 2-ply, blue and white striped poplin and comes in our classic American point collar.
- H&C point collar - classic American conservative in a collar
- Contrast gussets
- 100% two-ply Egyptian Cotton
- Environmentally safe fabric - with easy care finish for easy ironing
- H&C convertible cuffs - can be worn with buttons, or with cuff links
- Single-needle construction
- Box placket
Poplin, sometimes called broadcloth, is a plain weave which means the threads alternately cross over and then under each other. This results in a very smooth and durable fabric that has an almost silky hand feel, particularly with higher thread counts. Also, poplins look very crisp when ironed.
We make shirts crafted for the height of your torso (short, average, tall) and your overall build (skinny, slim, athletic, or broad). Our shirts aren't made for the masses. They're made for you.
Dylan, above, wears Average/Slim. Jared, below, wears Short/Skinny.
Superbly tailored
This is my favorite H&C shirt so far (no disrespect to my Brummell's Preferred and Barack). The Shepard garners compliments whenever worn, including its inaugural appearance at dinner in Avignon this fall.
Gorgeous
I think this shirt is so classic and beautiful. Wear it all the time. Fit for off-the-rack shirting is remarkable, even if you're a really small guy, like I am (5'6", 130 lbs.)...short/skinny works well.
Out of this World
I've been extremely pleased with my Hugh & Crye Shepard shirt. It fits perfectly, is well constructed with excellent stitching, and looks equally great with a tie and slacks or with jeans and a sweater. It may take those with less experience wearing fitted shirts to get used to the style, such as myself. But once you get used to Hugh & Crye you’ll never go back to the muffin-top bagginess of factory stitched shirts.
Nice Professional Shirt
I've had many stripped shirts, but this one is definitely my favorite. Combined with the perfect fit and pants, I've definitely gotten compliments from people at work.
